It has occurred to me over the last few weeks that there is no perfect daycare option. For those who get to stay home with their little ones or those who chose a daycare center, to in home care, there’s always a down side. I have a girlfriend that has just gone back to work and is thriving. She has chosen for her little one to stay with a family member during the day and this has allowed her to cherish the time with her baby more than ever and it works for her. I have another girlfriend that has chosen a daycare center and she makes a point, no matter how late she may be running or how urgent something may be at work, to make her goodbye with her girls special. She realizes that the last interaction with her girls in the morning is precious and that it will set the tone for their day too.
In the last few weeks I had to make some decisions about daycare for my little one and nothing was perfect. Knowing that all of my friends have their own unique situation that wasn’t perfect, helped me realize that nothing is going to be perfect. I have chosen the option that best works for our family and allows for the best care I can provide for my son at home. My husband and I can concentrate on providing a roof over our heads and a safe and stable home life.
Good luck choosing a daycare option, it’s never going to be a perfect situation but do like my wonderful circle of friends have done and make the best out of your decision. Our babies need us to provide for them in many different ways so do your best and they will love you for it!
